A Cycle in Three Parts
Him
I thought this was over
That I was done
She takes a breath and starts — part one.
Am I a princess or am I prey?
Or will this be to my dismay?
How the hell did it happen this way?
I'm sure I'll find out in these lines
As I tiptoe over the mines
Is he a frog? Or a prince?
I know it's not a fairytale, but this will likely end tense.
I can't do this, can I? This is so scary. And yet still I —
— I keep asking myself why did it have to be you;
But you gave me the feeling that you could be right —
so right I could not resist with all my might
Do we deserve this? Haven't we both been hurt?
I know I was dragged through the dirt
I have no right to be selfish. Or do I?
Craving a life neither of us can give one another.
I've never feared losing someone before
perhaps you've become someone I adore.
"Listen to Your Heart" is playing on the radio right now
The driver is playing it as I leave this town.
